Tiebreakers In round-robin pool play, each team plays every other team in the pool once. Then the top two teams face off once for the championship. Here's how the top two teams are decided: First by win/loss record in the pool play. If 2 are tied in win/loss, the head-to-head record breaks the tie. If 3 or more are tied, those teams are ranked by the fewest total runs allowed during the tournament, divided by the total number of innings played on defense. Teams thus tied are then broken by head-to-head record, if applicable. |
