TORRINGTON, June 28, 2002 --- The Twisters lost more than a ballgame last night in a 16-hit barrage by the Concord Quarry Dogs. They received news that leadoff centerfielder Jordan Czarniecki will leave the team Monday to return to Tennessee to earn three credits toward his degree.

But after a slow start, Czarniecki was picking up steam with six hits in last five games. Brandon Roberts' 10-game hitting streak was halted as he went 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts.
